Job summary

Vultr is seeking a highly skilled Senior Site Reliability Engineer, Databases, to join our Platform Engineering team. You will be the reliability and operational backbone for Vultr's database infrastructure spanning MySQL InnoDB Clusters, PostgreSQL, and other database technologies.

This is a peer-level role focused on applying SRE methodologies to database systems powering a global cloud platform. You will own monitoring, backup verification, disaster recovery testing, on-call incident

Qualifications

7+ years in SRE/DevOps or database operations at scale.
Deep MySQL InnoDB experience with replication and high availability.
PostgreSQL production experience and tuning.
Strong automation and IaC skills with Puppet or similar.

Responsibilities

Own monitoring and alerting for MySQL InnoDB Clusters and PostgreSQL across datacenters.
Lead quarterly backup verification and disaster recovery testing.
Handle on-call database incidents with documented runbooks.
Maintain replication health and DB user lifecycle management.
Build automation tooling in PHP, Python, or Go to reduce toil.
