Job summary

Datavant is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to build and operate a resilient, scalable data and ML platform across hybrid cloud environments. You will own the Databricks and Snowflake platforms and drive reliability, observability, and cost optimization.

You will lead CI/CD efforts with GitHub Actions and Terraform, enabling secure and production-grade data workflows. Collaboration with data scientists, engineers, and analytics teams is essential for success.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in SRE, platform engineering, or DevOps roles.
• Hands-on Databricks experience.
• Deep AWS cloud infrastructure knowledge.
• Experience with observability tools (Datadog).
• CI/CD tooling with GitHub Actions and Terraform.
• Data-centric or ML workloads experience.
• Proficiency in Python and shell scripting.

Responsibilities

• Operate and improve Databricks and Snowflake platforms lifecycle, including automation, governance, job orchestration, and cost optimization.
• Design for reliability: architect scalable, secure infra; drive failover, autoscaling, chaos testing, capacity planning.
• Advance observability: build monitoring, alerting, logging; define SLOs/SLAs.
• Drive CI/CD for Data & ML: automate deployments of data pipelines and ML workflows using GitHub Actions and Terraform.
• Enable data flow across platforms: patterns for inter- and intra-cloud movement (Snowflake, S3, Delta Lake, Kafka).
• Champion event-driven architectures: use EventBridge, SNS/SQS, Lambda for loosely coupled systems.
• Collaborate across teams: be SRE and platform partner for analytics, data science, product.
• Contribute to strategy: influence data platform architecture and ML enablement.
