Job summary

IQVIA is seeking a Senior Data Platforms SRE to serve as a technical escalation point, resolving complex incidents end-to-end on Databricks and Snowflake platforms hosted on Azure and AWS. You will implement platform guardrails, drive cost governance, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to SLA/SLO verification while improving reliability and cost efficiency.

The role requires 5 to 14 years of experience in data platforms or SRE, with hybrid/remote work from PAN India, and hands-on expertise

Qualifications

Snowflake, AWS, Google Cloud, Terraform and CI/CD pipelines required.
Experience with data platforms and SRE practices preferred.
Strong troubleshooting and incident management skills required.

Responsibilities

Advanced Incident Handling & Escalation: investigate non-trivial failures and coordinate root-cause analyses.
Resource & Cost Governance: identify runaway queries and oversized clusters; enforce cost controls.
Platform Guardrails Implementation: enforce policies, quotas, and workspace controls across Databricks and Snowflake.
Environment Lifecycle Execution: provision/decommission environments using IaC and validated configurations.
Service Improvement & Metrics: define incident metrics, track trends, support SLA/SLO verification.
Mentoring & Coaching: guide junior engineers, ensure clean handoffs, and share knowledge.
