Job summary

GDH Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to maintain reliability and resilience of our cloud platforms. You will lead DR drills, validate rebuild procedures, and automate deployment workflows across teams, ensuring operational continuity.

You will design IaC with Terraform and CloudFormation, manage Kubernetes clusters and implement robust monitoring with CloudWatch and Datadog, while writing automation in Python/Java/C#/Go. This is on-site at our Maryland location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8–10 years in SRE/DevOps or equivalent.
• Expert knowledge of AWS services (compute, networking, storage, IAM, serverless).
• Experience with Terraform and CloudFormation IaC and automation.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions or similar.
• Deep Kubernetes administration and Docker deployment experience.
• Proven disaster recovery validation and data integrity checks.
• Experience with monitoring tools like CloudWatch, Datadog, or comparable.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, C#, or Go.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment supporting mission-critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Support DR drill execution, validating platform rebuild procedures and DR playbooks.
• Ensure infrastructure can be rebuilt within a 48-hour recovery target.
• Verify data completeness, integrity, and reporting of drill results.
• Identify readiness gaps in infra, automation, monitoring and recovery processes, driving corrective actions.
• Design and support IaC workflows using Terraform, CloudFormation and CI/CD pipelines.
• Manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters and container workloads.
• Develop observability using CloudWatch, Datadog and other tools for reliability and incident response.
• Create automation scripts in Python or Java to reduce manual tasks.
• Collaborate with platform engineering, security, apps and data teams for secure operations.
• Participate in on-call rotations, RCAs and incident response to strengthen resilience.
