Job summary

Peraton seeks a Lead Site Reliability Engineer to ensure reliability, resilience, and recoverability of mission-critical platforms. You will lead disaster recovery drills, validate platform rebuilds, and drive automated deployment processes.

You will optimize Kubernetes clusters, implement IaC with Terraform and CloudFormation, and build robust observability using CloudWatch and Datadog. Collaborate with platform engineering, security, and data teams to maintain compliant operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 8–10 years in SRE/DevOps or 12 years with a high school diploma.
• Expert hands-on knowledge of AWS compute, networking, storage, IAM, and serverless components.
• Strong IaC experience with Terraform and CloudFormation; automation is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead DR drills and validate platform rebuild procedures and DR playbooks.
• Manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters and container workloads (Docker).
• Develop automated IaC workflows using Terraform, CloudFormation, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Build and maintain observability with CloudWatch and Datadog for proactive incident response.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure, compliant platform operations.
• Participate in on-call rotations and post-incident analyses to improve resilience.
