Job summary

Elsevier is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of its critical platforms. You will lead complex reliability initiatives, drive automation, and help build resilient systems that deliver excellent customer value.

You will leverage observability, incident response, and distributed systems to proactively identify and resolve reliability challenges.

Qualifications

• Advanced Terraform expertise with modules, providers, state management, and safe refactoring.
• Hands-on experience managing production multi-account AWS environments across ECS, RDS, ALB, VPC, IAM, Route53, ECR, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, Secrets Manager, KMS, CloudWatch.
• Experience building and troubleshooting reusable CI/CD workflows with GitHub Actions and OIDC authentication.

Responsibilities

• Create monitoring queries and establish service level baselines.
• Contribute to post-mortems and RCAs.
• Participate in disaster recovery tests.
• Automate deployments and run code in production.
• Document SRE knowledge and runbooks.
• Support deployment, monitoring, and reliability of AI-integrated services.
• Assist architecture teams with infrastructure topology drawings and deployment workflows.
• Test availability, reliability, and recoverability in non-production environments.
