Job summary

Elsevier is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our critical platforms and services. You will lead complex reliability initiatives, drive automation efforts to reduce operational toil, and help build resilient systems that deliver exceptional customer experiences.

You will leverage your expertise in observability, incident response, and distributed systems to proactively identify and resolve reliability challenges.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with Terraform, AWS environments, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong Linux scripting skills and automation mindset.
• Proven ability to design observability, incident response, and DR strategies.
• Experience deploying AI-enabled features with reliable operations.

Responsibilities

• Create monitoring queries and establish service baselines.
• Support senior engineers during incidents and post-mortems.
• Contribute to RCAs and disaster recovery testing.
• Implement automation and run in production environments.
• Document SRE knowledge and best practices for teams.
• Support deployment, monitoring, and reliability of AI-integrated services.
• Collaborate on infrastructure topology drawings and workflows.
• Test availability, reliability, and recoverability in non-prod environments.
