Job summary

Travel + Leisure Co. is seeking a Lead Database Engineer to drive delivery and modernization of enterprise SQL Server platforms. You will mentor engineers, coordinate with MSPs and internal teams, and lead complex migrations and performance optimizations.

The role emphasizes technical leadership across Oracle and distributed data platforms, with a focus on secure, scalable, and resilient data services for the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of enterprise database experience.
• 5+ years hands-on Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience with Oracle or Distributed Data Platforms.
• Ability to mentor engineers and lead technical delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, upgrade, migration, and performance optimization of SQL Server platforms across the enterprise.
• Serve as senior escalation point for performance, backup/recovery, security, and capacity issues.
• Improve platform reliability, automation, monitoring, and health across production and non-production environments.
• Provide technical direction to MSP DBAs during changes, incidents, and migrations.
• Mentor engineers, drive knowledge sharing, and ensure engineering standards are followed.
• Contribute to platform modernization, cloud/hybrid adoption, and lifecycle planning.
