Job summary

Republic Airways Holdings Inc. is seeking a Senior SQL Server DBA to own core DBA duties and lead modernization across the enterprise data platform. You will design for scale, harden production environments, and partner with IT to keep mission-critical systems stable and secure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; equivalent hands-on experience considered.
• 8 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise environments.
• Expert-level T-SQL skills for query development, optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Monitoring tools and dashboards for database health, performance, and resource utilization.
• Ability to upgrade and migrate legacy SQL Server versions to current releases.
• Hands-on HA/DR, security hardening, and lifecycle management.
• Working knowledge of Azure SQL and Azure Synapse Analytics.

Responsibilities

• Database installation & configuration across clustered, standalone, and Azure environments.
• Performance monitoring, tuning, and optimization of OLTP and analytical workloads.
• T‑SQL development, review, and optimization for performance and scalability.
• Design and maintain backup strategies, perform restore tests, ensure RPO/RTO.
• Implement and maintain HA/DR solutions including Always On and replication.
• Enforce security standards, manage roles/permissions, and audit readiness.
• Manage SQL Agent jobs; develop automation using PowerShell and T-SQL.
• Coordinate upgrades, patching, and environment validation; document standards.
• Lead modernization initiatives; collaborate with data engineering, BI, and IT.
