Job summary

Torrey Holistics is seeking a Senior Microsoft SQL Developer to modernize and optimize SQL components in a critical Azure VM-based environment. You will collaborate with solution architects, cloud engineers, and API teams to ensure high performance and maintainability of the transaction platform.

You will drive database modernization efforts, implement ETL with SSIS and Databricks, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub within an Agile framework.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of SQL Server development in enterprise environments.
• Advanced T-SQL development with query tuning and performance optimization.
• Experience developing SQL Server on Azure VM (IaaS).
• Hands-on HA support with AlwaysOn availability groups.
• Modernizing database code and schemas, including legacy SQL.
• Collaboration with .NET Core/C# teams for data access.
• CI/CD deployments via Azure DevOps and GitHub workflows.
• Experience modernizing SQL workloads in cloud environments.
• ETL development with SSIS and Databricks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize T-SQL queries, procedures, functions and views to support new capabilities.
• Perform advanced performance tuning, indexing strategies and query optimization for a high‑transaction SQL environment.
• Modernize database components while accommodating legacy code and structures.
• Collaborate with .NET Core/C# developers to ensure efficient data access patterns.
• Support high availability using Always On and manage migrations/scripts and ETL logic.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps and GitHub for SQL deployments.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and deliver within sprint cycles.
