Job summary

Mbi Llc in Virginia is seeking a Senior Microsoft SQL Developer to support modernization of an enterprise tolling platform. You will design, optimize, and migrate SQL components in a high-availability SQL Server environment on Azure VM, collaborating with architects, cloud engineers, API developers, and testers to deliver scalable data services.

Responsibilities include T-SQL development, performance tuning, CI/CD with Azure DevOps and GitHub, and supporting Agile/Scrum processes.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of SQL Server development experience in enterprise environments.
• Advanced T-SQL development skills including query tuning and performance optimization.
• Experience developing in SQL Server on Azure VM (IaaS) environments.
• Hands-on experience with Always On availability groups for high availability.
• Experience modernizing database code and schemas, including legacy SQL support.
• Experience collaborating with .NET Core/C# development teams.
• Experience deploying SQL updates through Azure DevOps and GitHub CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to work effectively within Agile/Scrum teams.
• Knowledge of PCI compliance and database security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize T‑SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and views.
• Performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization.
• Modernize existing SQL components while supporting legacy code.
• Support new features aligned with microservices modernization.
• Collaborate with .NET Core/C# developers for data access patterns.
• Modernize database models for modular, scalable architecture.
• Maintain high availability environments using Always On.
• Migration scripts, ETL logic, and integration via SSIS and Databricks.
• Ensure PCI compliance and data retention requirements.
• Contribute SQL changes through CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps & GitHub.
