Job summary

eTeam Inc. is seeking a seasoned SQL Server Database Administrator in New Jersey to manage installations, tuning, security, and DR for on-prem and cloud platforms. You will lead migration projects to AWS/Azure, implement Always-On replication, and optimize data performance using SSIS/SSRS and PowerShell automation.

Strong scripting, security, and communication skills are essential. The role requires migrating databases to AWS EC2/RDS, sizing, and applying cloud best practices.

Qualifications

• Manage and administer SQL Server databases across versions, including install/configuration/maintenance.
• Monitor and optimize performance via query tuning and indexing.
• Implement high availability and DR solutions (Always-On, Replication) to minimize downtime.
• Ensure security with access controls, encryption, SSL, TDE, and data masking.
• Back up and recover databases with robust strategies.
• Plan and execute migrations/upgrades with minimal disruption.
• Develop automation scripts using PowerShell or similar tools.
• Utilize SSIS/SSRS for data integration and reporting needs.
• Implement monitoring and alerting to proactively address issues.
• Document configurations, procedures and troubleshooting steps.
• Extensive experience migrating SQL Server to AWS EC2/RDS.
• Evaluate on-prem environments and propose best-fit AWS target environment.
• Cloud migration experience with sizing and performance tuning.
• Create AWS/Azure Landing Zones and Security policies.
• Strong AWS/Azure architecture knowledge and best practices.
• Hands-on with cloud-native migration tools (AWS/Azure Database Migration).
• Familiar with Schema Conversion Tool.
• Certifications such as AWS/Azure, MCTS, MCITP, MVP are a plus.
• Proficient in SQL tools: OmniDB, DBeaver, SQL Developer, PGAdmin.
• Extensive DB security, backup/recovery, and performance monitoring expertise.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate and AWS Certified Database Specialty are required.
• Strong written and verbal communication to present concepts to management.
