Job summary

VIVA USA Inc is seeking an Expert Level SQL Database Administrator to provide enterprise-wide support for production and non-production databases within the ClientIntegrated Revenue System.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with SQL Server 2022+ including installation, maintenance, security, backups, DR, and HA, as well as Windows Server administration. This onsite role is based in Little Rock, AR and requires strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on SQL Server administration (2022+).
• Experience installing/upgrading SQL Servers and applying updates.
• Knowledge of SQL Server Agent, jobs, and monitoring logs.
• Experience with Windows Server administration (3 years).
• Experience with AWS storage and WFCS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install and upgrade SQL Server instances and apply service packs.
• Perform routine database maintenance and health checks.
• Manage security, authentication, auditing, and encryption.
• Plan capacity and manage storage for WFCS/AWS.
• Implement backup/recovery with point-in-time restore.

Job description

The SENIOR SQL Database Administrator will be responsible for providing reliable, cost-effective, & secure enterprise-wide support for business-critical production & non-production databases for the ClientIntegrated Revenue System.

Expert Level SQL Database Administrator

This position requires candidates that have recent hands-on experience in ALL aspects of SQL DBA Administration.

MINIMUM: 4 Years Experience SQL Server 2022 (or later versions) database administration:

• Installing and upgrading SQL Servers, including applying service packs, cumulative updates
• Performing routine database maintenance
• Knowledge of SQL Server Agent and jobs
• Monitoring error logs and event logs for database errors and warnings

Database backup and recovery

• Establishing standards and schedules for database backups
• Developing recovery procedures to meet RPO and RTO
• Restoring databases with point in time recovery

Creating and testing Disaster Recovery plans

• Proficient in TSQL coding, tuning, and ETL methodologies
• SQL Server High Availability Methods
• Experience with VLDB
• Experience monitoring, supporting, troubleshooting high intense systems with both online transactions and batch transactions
• Always On and AWS HA Zones

Required: 3 Years Windows Server Administration experience:

• Building and maintaining Windows Servers and EC2 Instances
• Installing and managing end point protection
• Application Server, Web Server, File Server, and FTP Server configuration and maintenance
• Utilizing PowerShell for administration tasks
• Windows Failover Cluster configuration and maintenance
• Windows Server Roles and Features
• .NET Framework Components

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

• Experience with FAST GenTax/DS-VS architecture and application maintenance
• Familiarity with industry security standards (PUB1075, FIPS, and PII)
• Cloud computing knowledge
• Cloud storage, backup, and restore mechanisms
• Firewall administration and maintenance
• Active Directory knowledge (GPO, FQDN, DNS Server, SPN)
• Email, SMTP, and Proxy Server troubleshooting
• Web Services development and support
• Availability to provide 24 hour support
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written
