JPS Tech Solutions Pvt Ltd is seeking an Expert-Level SQL Database Administrator with hands-on experience across all aspects of SQL Server database administration. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL Server 2016 or later, Windows Server administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, security, and high availability.

The role requires extensive experience with maintenance tasks, security controls, and disaster recovery planning.

Formación

• Six+ years of SQL Server 2016 or later DBA experience.
• Experience installing, upgrading, and maintaining SQL Servers, including service packs.
• Proficient in creating and scheduling SQL Server jobs for maintenance.
• Experience rebuilding indexes and updating statistics; running DBCC checks.
• Proficient with SQL Server native tools: Profiler, Extended Events, DMVs, and monitoring.
• Experience with security, auditing, encryption, and access controls for backups.
• Capacity planning for storage, WFSC, and object growth.
• Develop recovery procedures to meet RPO/RTO; test DR plans.
• Proficient in T-SQL, performance tuning, and ETL methodologies.
• Experience with high-availability methods including Always On and mirroring.

Responsabilidades

• Design and implement SQL Server backup standards and schedules.
• Develop and test disaster recovery plans and run PIT restore drills.
• Perform routine maintenance: index rebuilds and statistics updates.
• Monitor logs, health checks, and performance metrics; respond to alerts.
• Configure security, authentication, encryption, and auditing for data at rest/in transit.
• Plan capacity and storage; manage WFSC and failover configurations.

Job Summary

We are seeking an Expert-Level SQL Database Administrator with recent, hands-on experience across all aspects of SQL Server database administration. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL Server 2016 or later, Windows Server administration, database performance tuning, backup and recovery, security, and high availability. This position is available for extensions.

Required Qualifications – SQL Server Administration

• Minimum 6 years of experience in SQL Server 2016 or later database administration.
• Experience installing, upgrading, and maintaining SQL Servers, including applying service packs.
• Experience performing routine database maintenance, including:
• Creating and scheduling SQL Server jobs for database maintenance.
• Rebuilding indexes and updating statistics.
• Performing database consistency checks.
• Monitoring SQL Server error logs and Windows event logs.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server native tools and services, including SQL Server Profiler, Index Tuning Advisor, SQL Server Configuration Manager, Extended Events, Performance Monitor, Dynamic Management Views (DMVs), SQL Server Broker Service, Linked Servers, MSDTC, system databases, Database Mail, health checks, and policies.
• Experience managing SQL Server security and auditing, including user security, database roles, authentication methods, SQL Server and database auditing, and encryption at rest, in transit, and for backups.
• Experience with capacity planning for storage and database objects, including disk space management, index and statistics usage, and storage management for Windows Failover Cluster Service (WFSC).
• Experience establishing database backup standards and schedules.
• Ability to develop recovery procedures that meet Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO).
• Experience restoring databases using point-in-time recovery.
• Experience creating and testing disaster recovery plans.
• Proficiency in T-SQL coding, performance tuning, and ETL methodologies.
• Experience with SQL Server high-availability methods, including database mirroring and Always On.

Required Qualifications – Windows Server Administration

• Minimum 4 years of Windows Server administration experience.
• Experience building and maintaining Windows host and guest servers.
• Experience installing and managing endpoint protection.
• Experience configuring and maintaining application servers, web servers, file servers, and FTP servers.
• Experience using PowerShell for administration tasks.
• Experience configuring and maintaining Windows Failover Clusters.
• Knowledge of Windows Server roles and features.
• Familiarity with .NET Framework components.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills

• Experience with FAST GenTax/DS-VS architecture and application maintenance.
• Familiarity with security standards, including PUB1075, FIPS, and requirements for protecting Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
• Knowledge of cloud computing, including cloud storage, backup, and restoration mechanisms.
• Experience with firewall administration and maintenance.
• Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPO), Fully Qualified Domain Names (FQDN), DNS servers, and Service Principal Names (SPN).
• Experience troubleshooting email, SMTP, and proxy servers.
• Experience supporting and maintaining web services.
• Availability to provide 24-hour support.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
