Job summary

Seyfarth Shaw LLP in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to support mission-critical databases and servers across internal applications.

You will design highly available SQL Server solutions, monitor performance, manage backups and recoveries, and collaborate with the Database Administration team and other IT groups. On-call after hours may be required to ensure reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of five years' work with Microsoft SQL Server and Windows Server senior-level administration experience.
• Expertise with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server.
• Expertise with Azure SQL and other cloud-based database services.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain all databases and servers for Microsoft and non-Microsoft database platforms.
• Ensure availability of existing SQL and other operational databases by designing highly available systems across multiple data centers.
• Monitor, tune and manage backups, recoveries, alerts, and storage in line with change control procedures.
• Perform fault diagnosis, troubleshoot, and correct problems at the database and application performance level.
• Collaborate with the database administration team and other IT groups to support projects and operations.
• Provide regular reports on performance and stability of the database environment and anticipate needs.
• Document, develop, test and implement updates to database systems.
• Work outside of regular business hours as required for projects or operational work.
