Job summary

Seyfarth Shaw LLP is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to support databases and servers that run critical firm applications. You will report to the Lead Database Administrator and Data Center and Systems Engineering Manager, contributing to the Database Administration team.

This role requires managing Microsoft SQL Server and Windows Server environments, designing HA/DR across data centers, tuning backups and jobs, diagnosing performance issues, and coordinating with other teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Five+ years of Microsoft SQL Server and Windows Server administration experience.
• Expertise with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server.
• Expertise with Azure SQL and other cloud-based database services.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain all databases and servers for Microsoft and non-Microsoft database platforms
• Design highly available SQL Server systems across data centers
• Monitor, tune and manage backups, jobs, and storage
• Diagnose and troubleshoot database/application performance issues
• Collaborate with other teams and document updates to database systems
• Provide regular reports on performance and stability of the database environment
• Work outside regular business hours as required for project or operational work
