Job summary

BNY is seeking a Senior Specialist, Application Development to drive process improvement, develop applications, and deliver AI-enabled solutions in a fast-paced technology environment. You will design end-to-end digital processes, integrate applications with internal systems, and support client data and reporting needs while advancing AI agent capabilities.

The role is hybrid, based at 240 Greenwich St in New York, with three days on-site and two remote.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of application development experience.
• Strong SQL and database development skills, including Oracle, Snowflake, SQL Server, or equivalent platforms.
• Experience with Python or similar development platforms.
• Hands‑on experience with Python, Oracle SQL, GitLab, APIs, Splunk, and App Engine.
• Experience building database‑driven applications across back‑end and front‑end development.
• Hands-on experience with AI agent development.
• Experience with AI agent performance tuning using Splunk technology.
• Knowledge of API integration, data modeling, ETL, and workflow automation.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to partner effectively with business and technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Consult with internal business groups to deliver application development services and technical support.
• Analyze, define, and document requirements across data, workflow, logical processes, system interfaces, controls, and outputs.
• Improve processes by moving workflows into online systems and ensuring reporting and usability.
• Integrate applications with internal systems, APIs, and project tracking tools such as JIRA for workflow management.
• Support client data and reporting capabilities across multiple sources.
• Develop, enhance, and support AI agents.
• Tune AI agent performance using Splunk and monitoring insights.
• Build database-driven applications using Python, SQL, and API integration.
• Contribute to project planning, feasibility analysis, and recommendations.
• Support production environments and Friday night deployments.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Specialist, Application Development to support process improvement, application development, and AI-enabled solution delivery within a fast-paced technology environment. This role is responsible for developing and enhancing end-to-end digital processes, integrating applications with internal systems and project tracking tools, supporting client data and reporting needs, and advancing AI agent capabilities. The ideal candidate will bring strong application development experience, database and API expertise, and hands‑on knowledge of AI agent development and performance tuning using Splunk.

This role offers a hybrid schedule based at 240 Greenwich St, New York, NY, with 3 days onsite per week and 2 days remote. Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM. Friday night deployments will be required as part of the role.

Key Responsibilities

• Application Development & Technical Support: Consult with internal business groups to deliver application development services and technical support aligned with business objectives and operational needs.
• Requirements Analysis & Solution Design: Analyze, define, and document requirements across data, workflow, logical processes, system interfaces, controls, and outputs while adhering to established development standards and methodologies.
• End-to-End Process Development: Help improve and develop processes by taking workflows from end to end, moving them into online systems, and ensuring solutions are built to support reporting, usability, and business needs.
• System Integration & Workflow Enablement: Integrate applications with internal systems, APIs, and project tracking tools such as JIRA to support workflow management, reporting, and operational visibility.
• Client Data & Reporting Solutions: Support systems that collect and organize client data from multiple sources, helping deliver the reporting capabilities and insights needed by the business.
• AI Agent Development: Develop, enhance, and support AI agents, including building new capabilities and improving existing solutions to better meet team objectives.
• AI Performance Tuning & Monitoring: Support AI agent performance tuning using current Splunk technology and monitoring insights to optimize functionality, reliability, and supportability.
• Database & API Development: Build and support database-driven applications using Python, SQL, and API integration practices, including data modeling, ETL, and workflow automation.
• Project Planning & Technical Recommendations: Contribute to project planning, feasibility analysis, compatibility review, and the development of recommendations to resolve business and technology issues.
• Production Support & Deployment: Support production environments, assist with incident‑related needs including production and cyber‑related workflows, and participate in Friday night deployments as required.

• Experience with AI agent performance tuning using Splunk technology
• Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving ability, and ability to develop practical technology solutions
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to partner effectively with business and technical stakeholders

Preferred Experience

• Experience integrating data from multiple source systems and APIs
• Experience supporting production environments and resolving application issues
• Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and DevOps practices
• Experience working with AI‑enabled analytics, automation, or intelligent reporting platforms
• Experience with machine learning fundamentals, generative AI tools and frameworks, or AI agent development practices
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitHub Actions
• Experience in the securities or financial services industry is preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and work experience

Pay Rate Range

92.8 - 116 USD hourly
