Job summary

Kundlas Consulting Group LLC is seeking a Special Track Inspector to perform technical inspections of special track work and related materials for MTA/NYCT projects. The role requires experience with railroad components, dimensional inspections, and QA procedures.

Responsibilities include reviewing drawings, documenting nonconforming materials, and preparing inspection reports to support acceptance decisions. Minimum five years in the field and ASNT/AWS knowledge preferred.

Qualifications

Minimum five years of experience in special track inspections or related quality assurance.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
Working knowledge of AWS and ASNT inspection techniques.
Knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous castings and forgings where applicable.

Responsibilities

Inspect special track work manufactured to Authority drawings and specifications.
Verify precise dimensions, clearances, and quality requirements.
Inspect track materials (nuts, bolts, washers, plates, shims, clips, spikes).
Review engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection documentation.
Identify and document nonconforming materials.
Prepare inspection reports and support material acceptance decisions.
