Job summary

Sandia Area Federal Credit Union in Albuquerque, NM, is seeking a Special Accounts Supervisor to lead a team focused on collections, delinquent accounts, and repossessions. You will guide staff, ensure compliance with GFPA and banking regulations, and partner with the Loan Servicing Director to optimize recovery performance.

Qualifications

• Understand Fair Debt Collections Protection Act and credit union operations.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Ability to effectively negotiate bad debts.
• Strong leadership and team-management abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Willing to drive on company business and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Able to lift up to 10 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Lead department operational support, including staffing and scheduling; approve timecards and manage department calendar.
• Oversee collection efforts, including delinquent accounts, and coordinate with members to establish repayment plans.
• Oversee repossession processes and liaise with attorneys on collateral.
• Prepare reports on collection activities, team performance, and recovery rates.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements; audit accounts as needed.
