Sandia Area Federal Credit Union in Albuquerque, NM is seeking an Accountant to balance and reconcile the general ledger and daily cash accounts. You will assist in month-end close, prepare monthly financial reports, and maintain internal controls within a standards-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• Three years of applicable experience required.
• Advanced Excel skills including tables, pivot tables, nested formulas, power query, VBA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements, board reports, tax reports, escheatment reports and other reporting.
• Maintain accounting controls by preparing entries for assets, liabilities, capital accounts, investments and other accounts.
• Maintain cash and bank accounts by verifying transactions and reconciling accounts.
• Balance subsidiary accounts for Fixed Assets, Prepaid Expenses, and other balances; research differences and post corrections.
• Assist with month-end closing activities and other accounting functions as directed.
