Job summary

10x Genomics in Pleasanton, CA is seeking an exceptional multidisciplinary scientist to advance our Spatial Biology research and product development, mapping proteins and other biomolecules directly in intact tissue.

You will optimize tissue handling and staining protocols for high-plex imaging, design experiments with novel optical and biochemical platforms, and collaborate with computational biologists to interpret data and drive cross-team product milestones.

Qualifications

PhD in Molecular/Cell Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry or related field.
5+ years of relevant experience in proteomics, imaging and spatial techniques, in situ hybridization.
Hands-on experience with high-plex protein multiplexing technology.
Experience with tissue processing, histology, immunohistochemistry, cryosectioning, immunofluorescence including characterization by surface markers or gene expression.
Extensive experience working with antibodies, including mAb QC, conjugation, functional testing.
Strong analytical background, organizational, written and oral communication skills.
Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Desire to build game-changing technologies in life science research.

Responsibilities

Contribute to the optimization of tissue handling and processing protocols for protein staining, including FFPE samples.
Design and execute experiments using imaging and biochemistry platforms integral to spatial technology platforms; report data.
Work closely with computational biologists and software engineers to interpret data.
Develop demonstrated and robust protocols that will be used internally across teams during product development.
