Job summary

The Boeing Company is seeking a System Safety Engineer in Houston, TX to join Boeing Defense Space & Security. You will lead hazard analyses, develop safety requirements, and collaborate across software, hardware and operations teams to ensure NASA and program safety compliance for ISS-related systems.

Experience with hazard reporting, safety documentation, and presenting results to review boards is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related field or compatible discipline.
Level 3 requires 5+ years of engineering experience.
Experience writing hazard reports.
Experience presenting hazard reports to customer boards/review panels.

Responsibilities

Lead risk-based hazard analyses at a system level with safety control and mitigation strategies.
Review system concepts, architecture and design from a safety perspective across software, hardware and operations.
Develop and maintain safety documentation and support safety panel reviews for ISS Payloads and Systems Integration.
Identify and quantify safety risks and ensure compliance with NASA safety requirements.
Prepare safety reports and present to NASA and Boeing Safety boards and panels.
Collaborate with NASA, Space Station contractors and international partners to flow safety requirements to suppliers.
