Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering or related field required.
  • 10+ years of experience writing hazard reports.
  • 10+ years of experience presenting hazard reports to customer boards/review panels.

Responsibilities

  • Lead risk-based hazard analyses at system level with cross-functional team and develop control/mitigation strategies.
  • Review system-level operations, architecture, and designs from a safety perspective and collaborate on software/hardware/ops to meet NASA requirements.
  • Develop and maintain safety documentation and support safety panel reviews for ISS payloads and systems integration.
  • Act as technical lead for the system safety team.
  • Collaborate with reliability engineers to produce FTAs and FMEs.
  • Develop test plans to verify safety requirements and fault handling capabilities.
  • Flow safety requirements to suppliers and oversee compliance.
  • Evaluate supplier safety reports and hazards reports.
  • Engage with NASA SMEs to ensure hazard analyses and fault management meet contract requirements.
  • Prepare safety reports for NASA, including Integrated Hazard Reports and NCRs.
  • Participate in milestone reviews and safety reviews to ensure compliance.
  • Assist planning/execution of phased safety reviews and CoFR process.
