Job summary

BlackSky is seeking a proven spacecraft systems engineer to define, verify, and deliver industry-defining spacecraft from our Tukwila, WA office with a hybrid schedule (3 days on-site, flexible remote work). You will collaborate across mechanical, electrical, software, and test teams, and interact with program managers and customers.

The role requires a BS in Engineering and 5+ years in aerospace/defense, with Python data analysis, system budgets, and requirements management expertise.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or related technical field.
• 5+ years in Aerospace/Defense with real-time hardware/software analysis.
• Proficient in Python for data analysis and modeling.
• Experience deriving satellite budgets (power, mass, reliability).
• Strong requirements management and systems thinking.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of SE deliverables for internal and customer projects.
• Create and refine tools for analysis across components, subsystems, and vehicles.
• Decompose CONOPS into requirements at vehicle level.
• Develop verification and test plans for system and subsystems.
• Communicate analysis results to engineers, PMs, and customers.
• Identify automation opportunities to streamline workflows.
