Job summary

Redwire in Littleton, CO is seeking a Senior Principal Spacecraft Systems Engineer / Mission Architect to lead mission architecture development and translate customer objectives into actionable mission concepts and end-to-end architectures. You will guide technology roadmaps and support business development to win major new opportunities.

You will collaborate with propulsion, GNC/ADCS, power, thermal, avionics, payloads, ground systems, autonomy, and FSW teams, while mentoring staff and ensuring

Qualifications

• 16+ years in space industry designing, developing, integrating and operating space hardware.
• Deep mission and space vehicle architecture across multiple orbital regimes.
• Significant RPO architecture and mission design experience.
• Proven capture/proposal experience including technical volumes and BOEs.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture development for new pursuits: CONOPS, mission threads and design strategy.
• Decompose objectives into mission and system requirements with budgets and ICDs.
• Document architecture trades and perform trades on propulsion, comms, and more.
• Develop capture artifacts and participate in color team reviews.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams across propulsion, GNC/ADCS, power, thermal, avionics, ground, autonomy, and FSW.
• Mentor staff and maintain engineering excellence and traceability.
• Engage with customers to refine objectives and support proposals and RFIs.
