Job summary

Redwire seeks a Staff Project Engineer in Goleta, CA to lead the technical execution of space hardware from concept to delivery. You will drive systems-level design, development, evaluation, and refinement across the product lifecycle while acting as a technical leader in long-range planning and emerging technology.

The role requires a BS in aerospace/mechanical engineering and 8+ years of production hardware experience, with strong CAD, GD&T, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years designing, developing, manufacturing, and testing production hardware.
• Proven systems-level engineering experience with technical team leadership.
• Experience with space mechanism design and aerospace guidelines.
• Proficiency in CAD and PDM systems; strong drafting and GD&T knowledge.
• Experience preparing and presenting technical updates to stakeholders.
• Familiarity with root cause analysis processes.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead for programs or project teams, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget alignment.
• Maintain technical integrity across phases and act as escalation point.
• Translate product strategies into system-level requirements and develop lower-level specs.
• Lead design reviews and verification/validation procedures.
• Generate and present all required project documentation.
• Develop system-level requirements and verification plans.
