Job summary

Redwire Space NV is seeking a Senior Principal Spacecraft Systems Engineer / Mission Architect to join our Littleton, CO team. You will lead mission architecture development and support Business Development and Capture efforts, translating objectives into actionable concepts and end‑to‑end architectures.

You will guide multi‑discipline teams across propulsion, GNC/ADCS, power, thermal, avionics, payloads, and autonomy, while mentoring staff and ensuring rigorous MBSE practices.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related space discipline.
• 16+ years in space industry designing, developing, integrating, testing, and operating space flight hardware.
• Deep mission and vehicle architecture expertise across multiple orbital regimes.
• Significant hands‑on RPO architecture and mission design experience.
• Proficient with mission modeling tools (STK, MATLAB).
• Advanced MBSE experience (SysML/Cameo, DOORS/Jama).
• Proven capture/proposal experience with technical volumes, BOEs, and oral presentations.
• Willingness to travel ~20% (mostly domestic, some international).
• US Citizenship required; active or with TS/SCI preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture development for new pursuits: CONOPS, mission threads, and subsystem allocations.
• Translate customer objectives into mission-level and system-level requirements and performance budgets.
• Conduct architecture trades including mission design, orbit selection, and payload sizing.
• Develop capture artifacts: strategy docs, technical volumes, BOEs, and discriminator mapping.
• Coordinate across propulsion, GNC/ADCS, power, thermal, avionics, payloads, autonomy, and FSW teams.
• Produce MBSE artifacts and ensure traceability across baselines.
• Mentor staff and uphold engineering excellence and configuration control.
• Engage with customers to refine objectives and support proposals and RFIs/RFPs.
