Job summary

Muon Space is seeking an experienced spacecraft structural analyst to own full lifecycle of spacecraft structures, from early conceptual studies through detailed FEM analyses and on-site testing coordination. You will lead analytical efforts, evaluate test data, and guide risk-based decisions in a fast-paced startup environment.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in aerospace structural analysis, strong FEM/analyses experience (FEMAP/ANSYS), and solid programming skills (Python, MATLAB, C/C++).

Qualifications

• 10+ years in spacecraft or aerospace structural analysis.
• B.S. or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Detail-oriented with strong critical thinking.
• Experience with detailed FEM analyses for aerospace systems (FEMAP, ANSYS).
• Experience designing and executing structural tests for spacecraft.
• Strong programming skills in Python, MATLAB, Julia, C, C++, or Fortran.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Occasional travel for on-site tests.

Responsibilities

• Own full lifecycle of spacecraft structures from early analyses to test support.
• Perform linear/nonlinear static, modal, frequency, and random response analyses.
• Correlate models with test data and conduct root-cause analysis.
• Balance risk vs. cost in design decisions and supplier interactions.
• Develop concepts and models to spur team innovation in early programs.
• Establish engineering standards and drive structural validation and testing.
