Rocket Lab, based at our global headquarters in Long Beach, CA, seeks a Senior Spacecraft Structural Analysis Engineer I with TS/SCI clearance. You will define loads, perform detailed structural analyses and simulations, and guide design and test programs for our Space Systems and components.

You will collaborate across disciplines, lead projects, and influence margins and validation through test data, model verification, and tool development, with a competitive compensation package and stock

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Active TS/SCI clearance and U.S. citizenship.
• 5+ years of aerospace engineering experience.
• Experience with NX Nastran, NX CAD, and Teamcenter.
• Experience in spacecraft-level structural test campaign design, execution, data processing, and validation.
• Based in Long Beach, CA or willing to relocate.

Responsabilités

• Define, process, and interpret static and dynamic ground test & flight data, including sensor selection, data acquisition, and environmental determination.
• Perform structural analyses of primary and secondary vehicle structures, including finite element model verification, material selection, trade-off studies, and mass optimization.
• Perform structural and dynamic simulations (static, modal, random vibration, buckling, thermoelastic).
• Collaborate with design and test engineers to iterate concepts and demonstrate positive structural margins.
• Define test requirements and support testing of vehicle subsystems and components.
• Lead technical projects within analysis and across teams; establish best practices.
