Rocket Lab's Space Systems team seeks a Senior Spacecraft Structural Analysis Engineer I (TS/SCI) based in Long Beach, CA. Owns analysis, design validation, and future improvements across Space Systems and Components, defining loads, performing simulations, and guiding design.

Supports leadership and investors with deliverables. You will work with the Vehicle Design Director and cross-functional teams, ensuring positive structural margins and test-driven validation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• US citizenship is required for program access.
• 5+ years of aerospace engineering experience.
• Experience with NX Nastran, NX CAD, and Teamcenter.
• Experience in spacecraft-level structural test campaign design, execution, data processing, and validation.

Responsabilités

• Define, process, and interpret static and dynamic ground test & flight data.
• Perform structural analyses of primary and secondary vehicle structures.
• Conduct structural and dynamic simulations (static, modal, random vibration, buckling, thermoelastic).
• Collaborate with design and test engineers to iterate concepts and determine test needs.
• Define test requirements and support testing of subsystems and components.
• Lead technical projects within analysis and across teams.
• Implement new theory and tools and establish best practices.
