Job summary

Rocket Lab in Long Beach, CA, is seeking a Spacecraft Structural Analysis Engineer I to contribute to the analysis, design validation, and improvements of Space Systems and Space Components. You will define loads, run simulations, and validate performance through tests, supporting the Vehicle Design Director.

You will work with design and test engineers, lead projects, and adopt new tools and best practices in structural analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• U.S. citizenship is required, due to program requirements.
• Structural analysis experience in the aerospace industry.
• Experience using NX Nastran, NX CAD, and Teamcenter.

Responsibilities

• Define, process, and interpret static and dynamic ground test & flight data.
• Perform, validate, and document structural analyses of vehicle structures.
• Perform structural and dynamic simulations, including static, modal, and thermoelastic.
• Work closely with design and test engineers to iterate through concepts and tests.
• Define test requirements and support testing of vehicle subsystems.
• Lead technical projects within analysis and across teams.
