Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced engineer to analyze structural systems for spaceflight applications. You will develop and validate finite element models, perform ground and flight regime analyses, and process dynamic test data to ensure hardware specifications meet harsh aerospace environments.

The role emphasizes nonlinear dynamic analysis, component modal synthesis, and multi-physics considerations within a safety-conscious, collaborative culture. WA site experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in mechanical, aerospace, civil engineering or physics.
• 8+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• High judgement; balance between engineering judgment and analysis rigour.
• Explicit and implicit nonlinear transient dynamic analysis with LS-DYNA.

Responsibilities

• Finite Element Model development and correlation to test data.
• Modeling, simulation, and verification of spacecraft and engine ground and flight regimes.
• Ground and flight test dynamic data measurement and interpretation.
• Resource-intensive computing, large datasets reduction and post-processing.
• FE Model reduction using Component Modal Synthesis (Craig-Bampton).
• General loads development for launch vehicles and related ground systems.
• Development of mathematical models and simulations for loads analysis.
• Acceleration, shock, and vibration measurement and data interpretation.
