Apex Technology, Inc. is seeking a Senior Operating Systems Engineer to design, develop, and own software for spacecraft to operate autonomously 24/7. You will collaborate with mission ops, GNC, and hardware teams to turn ideas into flight-critical software that runs across all mission phases.

We value engineers who thrive in a fast-paced environment, tackle tough problems, and balance rigor with practicality, with experience in embedded Linux, Python, C++, and Rust.

Qualifications

• 8+ years writing code for operating systems, ideally Yocto or embedded Linux on spacecraft/ robotics/hardware.
• U.S. Person status is required due to export controlled data access.
• Bachelor's degree in CS, EE or equivalent, or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop the low level software that configures peripherals and communications on avionics.
• Develop, configure, and maintain embedded Linux platforms and bootloaders (Yocto, Buildroot, WolfBoot, U-Boot).
• Design, implement, and validate firmware update mechanisms including secure deployment and recovery.
• Design and implement security enhancements across complex software architectures.
