Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Operations team in Texas. You will lead the design and implementation of efficient manufacturing systems, ensure quality control, and optimize supply chain logistics for Production/Operations.

The role requires collaboration across design, quality assurance, and production teams to accelerate space vehicle manufacturing. Relocation is available and travel up to 50% to Seattle may be required.

Qualifications

  • BS in mechanical, manufacturing, electrical, or aerospace engineering from an accredited university.
  • 3+ years in a manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering role.
  • Internship in aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicle structures, automotive manufacturing, or similar.
  • Strong fundamentals in mechanical design and manufacturing, including GD&T.
  • Experience with CAD, issue tracking, and Microsoft Office tools.
  • 1+ years creating English work instructions.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or eligible immigrant for work in the U.S.
  • Willingness to work second shift and extended hours as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Support industrialization of new products in solar arrays, integration and test, avionics, and structures.
  • Contribute to DfM, DfA, and DfT to build reliable space vehicles.
  • Translate engineering requirements into robust manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with design, QA, supply chain, and production teams to accelerate space manufacturing.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation and inspection plans.
  • Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and methods.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conformances.
  • Ensure work aligns with AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality standards.
  • Participate in FMEAs, risk assessments, and validation of new production lines.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency gains and cost reduction.
