Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Engineering Technician Level 4 to support Integration & Test of spacecraft in Gilbert, AZ. The role involves mechanical and electromechanical fabrication, assembly, and testing under a high-stakes environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aerospace hardware, clean room operations, and the ability to work flexible shifts with potential travel. Proficiency with CAD/CAx tools and MES systems is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education and/or related experience as a Electrical or Manufacturing Technician, or equivalent.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Top-Secret security clearance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Hands-on experience with aerospace equipment, harness build, and soldering.
  • Knowledge of electrical measurements (AC/DC, resistance), voltage circuitry, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Understanding of clean room operations and spacecraft handling protocols.
  • Ability to lift and position objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion tasks such as sanding or scrubbing over long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts, including 2nd and 3rd shift schedules, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and interpret detailed drawings for fabrication.
  • Fabricate, assemble, and install mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic components or assemblies.
  • Set up and conduct prototype unit and subsystem tests under operational conditions.
  • Analyze test data, identify issues, and recommend modifications.
  • Support critical space flight hardware integration with high attention to detail and safety.
  • Maintain clean room protocols, hazardous material handling, and operational procedures.
  • Work flexible schedules, including off shifts, weekends, overtime as needed.
  • Lead test configuration setups.
  • Set up, troubleshoot, and repair Electronic Ground Support Equipment (EGSE), including test racks and desktop equipment.
  • Assist in cable design and test configuration development.
  • Navigate and execute test scripts in Maestro and AstroRT environments.
  • Verify completion of testing events and associated documentation.
  • Support critical/hazardous operations as needed.
  • Perform mechanical assembly, wire harnessing, and soldering.
  • Equipment & Process Management: Maintain work areas in compliance with ESD, FOD, and 5S standards.
