Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Gilbert, AZ is seeking an I&T Principal Mechanical Engineer (1st Shift) to join a team supporting space vehicle integration and test activities.

The role requires a STEM bachelor’s plus 5 years of related experience (masters preferred); candidate will develop work instructions, oversee mechanical operations, and ensure safety and quality in a highly regulated environment. A DoD clearance may be required; 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM required; 5+ years of related experience, 3 with Masters; PhD not required.
• Experience in integration, test, mechanical operations, or manufacturing.
• Must be able to obtain and retain a DOD TS/SCI Security Clearance and/or SAP clearances.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties contributing to Integration and Test (I&T) activities for space vehicle systems and their supporting hardware.
• Coordinate and oversee mechanical build and production operations; develop detailed work instructions or test procedures; provide technical insight to processes and hardware designs.
