Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in Chantilly, VA is seeking a Spacecraft Integration Engineer (Project Leader - Systems and Systems Test Engineering) to lead design, integration, test and operation activities for a national security space system.

You will coordinate with government customers, manage risk, and guide SME teams in evaluating design, test and analyses, while ensuring timely, informed decisions for the customer. A TS/SSBI/SCI clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field is required.
• Minimum six years of professional engineering experience.
• Strong systems engineering and communication skills to identify problems and assess risks.
• In-depth knowledge of at least one spacecraft technical discipline.
• Willingness to travel (typical schedule: 1 week per month; Chantilly-based role requires 2 weeks per month).
• Active TS/SSBI/SCI security clearance and polygraph; U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead risk management and coordinate in manufacturing and test to protect launch success.
• Direct response teams for non-conformances and major technical issues with SMEs.
• Support architectural realization, design development, and CONOP maturation.
• Collaborate with government customers and SETA to develop assessments and recommendations.
• Generate periodic written reports and presentations for customer and Aerospace management.
• Observe AI&T activities and ensure engineering expertise informs customer decisions.
