Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Washington state is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to design safety-critical docking mechanisms for the Lunar Permanence program. You will work through the full design cycle, mentor junior engineers, and deliver flight-ready hardware within schedule and cost constraints.

Candidates should have a BS in engineering, 10+ years in aerospace mechanical design, and strong GD&T with Creo.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering.
• 10+ years of aerospace or equivalent mechanical design experience.
• Experience with GD&T and tolerance stacks.
• Strong documentation and technical writing skills.
• Ability to design safety-critical docking mechanisms.

Responsibilities

• Design safety-critical docking components and systems.
• Mentor junior engineers.
• Lead design cycle from concept to qualification.
• Generate drawings and documentation with GD&T.
• Support subsystem testing and supplier management.
• Collaborate in a small, agile team.
