Job summary

Blue Origin, based in Washington, is seeking an electrical engineer to design crew interface hardware and habitability systems for spaceflight applications. You will guide electrical architecture, define interfaces, and own components through build, test, and qualification.

The role requires hands-on lab work, experience with ECAD tools, and collaboration with systems, mechanical, software, and mission assurance teams to ensure robust, integrated solutions for crew systems and avionics.

Qualifications

• B.S. in electrical engineering or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 5+ years in high-reliability electronics (spacecraft/launch/aviation/defense or similar).
• Release-quality artifacts under configuration control (schematics, BoMs, drawings, test procedures).
• Hands-on lab bring-up/debug skills (oscilloscope, DMM, logic analyzer, power supplies, load emulation).
• Proficiency with ECAD/analysis tools (Altium/Mentor/KiCad, SPICE).
• Strong cross-functional communication with systems, mechanical, software, and quality.

Responsibilities

• Develop avionics hardware (boards and integrated assemblies) through concept to production release.
• Design analog and digital boards interfacing with avionics systems, including testing and release.
• Collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines in integrated product teams from design to verification.
• Support risk analyses, FMECA, DFx, and root-cause analysis of test discrepancies.
