Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer in El Segundo, CA to lead the design, integration, and flight qualification of advanced spaceborne payloads within the Reconfigurable Processing Unit (RPU) product line.

The Unit Lead will own technical definition and execution, coordinating a multidisciplinary team and interfacing with customers and program management to ensure on-time delivery in a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.
• 8 years of engineering experience in electronics hardware development.
• Hands-on experience with software-defined radios.
• Leadership experience, mentoring or leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of systems engineering practices, requirements flowdown, verification/validation, and configuration management.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to present complex technical information.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the RPU Unit Lead and primary technical contact for the box during development.
• Lead architecture, design, prototyping, integration, and flight readiness.
• Coordinate RF, digital, power, mechanical, thermal, software, and systems engineers.
• Hold schedule accountability for the box development.
• Manage flight qualification activities including environmental tests and risk assessment.
• Drive transition to volume production with manufacturability and documentation.
