Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories is hiring experienced R&D Mechanical Engineers to join multidisciplinary teams delivering critical national security work. You will contribute across the full lifecycle of complex mechanical systems from requirements to production realization and sustainment, collaborating with diverse engineers and customers.

The role requires onsite work and travel up to 25%. A DOE Q-level clearance is required for employment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with 5 years of direct experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and mature mechanical design requirements with customers and engineers.
• Analyze, test, qualify, and sustain mechanical systems and subsystems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including systems and production engineers.
• Plan and execute environmental, functional, safety, and qualification tests.
• Support stockpile-related projects and maintain documentation.
• Mentor engineers and communicate results to stakeholders.
