Job summary

Iridium Satellite LLC is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to coordinate on-orbit test activities and manage ground-segment operations. The role interfaces with SDA teams and government stakeholders, supporting the mesh network operations.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in satellite operations, strong system engineering knowledge, and AGILE experience, with ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment and to communicate effectively with senior leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, or related field.
8+ years of experience in satellite operations, on-orbit testing, ground system engineering, software integration/test, or software development.
Strong knowledge of system engineering methodologies and AGILE processes.
Familiarity with tools and software supporting system engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

Lead on-orbit checkout and commissioning of a satellite and ground segment.
Develop and execute detailed test plans for on-orbit activities.
Coordinate and lead integrated test teams for on-orbit procedures and anomaly resolution.
Analyze telemetry in real-time to assess health and performance.
Conduct root cause analysis for on-orbit issues and implement solutions.
Prepare technical briefings for senior leadership and stakeholders.
