Job summary

Iridium is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for the SDA Project. The role interfaces with the SDA operations team and Iridium System Engineering to develop on-orbit and ground-segment artifacts. You will lead tests, craft procedures, coordinate teams, and provide technical write-ups across the mesh network operations.

A Secret clearance is required and shifts are 4 on/4 off, 12 hours. Base pay range: $115,000–$155,000 USD; stock and annual bonus; health/dental/vision coverage; 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of satellite operations and ground system engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in aerospace or electrical engineering, or equivalent on-orbit test experience.
• Strong knowledge of system engineering methodologies and AGILE processes.
• Familiar with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence) and SAFe.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to interface with leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-orbit checkout and commissioning of satellite and ground segment.
• Develop tests for on-orbit activities and validate system performance.
• Coordinate integrated test teams and resolve anomalies.
• Analyze telemetry in real-time to assess health and identify issues.
• Prepare technical briefings for senior leadership.
• Maintain documentation for on-orbit procedures and system tests.
• Interface with SDA/Iridium teams and manage test procedures.
