Job summary

Iridium Communications Inc. is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for the Space Development Agency (SDA) project.

You will interface between the Iridium Operations team supporting SDA and the Iridium System Engineering team to develop artifacts for the mesh network and ground segment, and to support on-orbit test procedures. You will work a 12-hour shift, on-site, in a 24/7 multi-satellite operations environment, providing integration support and technical leadership while collaborating with

Qualifications

• 8+ years in satellite operations/on-orbit testing and ground system engineering
• Strong knowledge of system engineering methodologies and AGILE processes
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with senior leadership

Responsibilities

• Lead on-orbit checkout and commissioning of a satellite and its ground segment
• Develop, author, and execute test plans for on-orbit activities
• Coordinate and lead integrated test teams to ensure seamless execution
• Analyze telemetry data in real-time to assess health and performance
• Conduct root cause analysis for anomalies and performance deviations
• Prepare technical briefings for senior leadership and stakeholders
• Maintain documentation related to on-orbit checkout and test procedures
• Collaborate with SDA and Iridium program leadership to assess risks and provide improvements
