Job summary
Umbra is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to provide technical leadership across space missions spanning space, ground, launch, and operations. You will manage the program baseline, coordinate across internal teams and partners, and deliver technical solutions aligned with customer needs.
The role requires extensive systems engineering experience, knowledge of SAR and remote sensing concepts, and strong leadership.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of systems engineering experience in aerospace, spacecraft, or remote sensing programs.
- Strong ability to lead technical reviews and customer presentations.
- Experience with flight operations, ground systems, and flight-software maintenance.
- Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and manage risks.
Responsibilities
- Own and maintain the program technical baseline with aligned interfaces and architecture.
- Provide systems engineering leadership across Space, Ground, Launch, Mission Operations, and Modeling & Simulation.
- Lead technical reviews, customer presentations, and collaboration with program management and partners.
- Support flight operations, ground-system sustainment, and on-site customer training.
