Job summary

Amazon Leo for Government (ALG) Engineering seeks a Senior System Engineer to design, integrate, and test space and ground segment solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to exceed customer needs in a fast-paced, autonomous environment.

You will own architecture development, requirements flow-down, interfaces, and verification across satellite bus, RF/ optical payloads, or ground terminals, with emphasis on formal test, analysis, and qualification activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or equivalent.
• 8+ years of experience in Space systems engineering principles and techniques; Power, mass, and other technical performance budgets; Requirements analysis and flow-down; Design verification and validation processes; Configuration management; Satellite level integration and test processes.
• 8+ years of experience in spacecraft systems engineering, Spacecraft design, or a related field, with hands-on experience in satellite design and integration.
• 8+ years of experience with the derivation and maintenance of requirements from a system level down to lower levels.
• 8+ years of experience developing system level budgets (power, dV, pointing, link, etc.) and track the budget throughout the development lifecycle
• Hands-on experience with spacecraft integration, flatsat testing, hardware-in-the-loop testing, or mission operations.
• 5+ years of experience in the use of standard electronic lab test equipment (i.e. network analyzers, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, function generators, multimeters, etc.)

Responsibilities

• All aspects of space segment systems engineering including conceptual development, trade studies, CONOPS definition, requirements allocation, and verification.
• Collaborate with program and product leadership to ensure successful program execution.
• Apply an interdisciplinary approach to plan, design, develop, and verify space segment products.
• Develop integrated satellite system designs and solutions across subsystems.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure system execution.
• Participate in software-to-hardware integration and test activities for mission readiness.
• Analyze data, verify configurations, and maintain system documentation.
• Perform analyses to optimize satellite system and architecture.
• Resolve cross-functional technical issues with data-driven approaches.
• Develop and improve systems engineering processes and rigor.
