Job summary

STR, a leading defense and intelligence technology company, seeks a skilled simulation engineer to design, implement, and operate integrated testbeds for advanced space and defense systems.

You will analyze system performance, develop test plans, and define evaluation criteria while collaborating with research and software teams to integrate simulation tools. U.S. citizenship and security clearance are required.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain secret security clearance.
• BS in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years experience, MS with 3+ years or PhD with 2+ years in a related technical discipline.
• Experience with space defense programs, sensor systems, platforms and ground systems.
• Experience in two of: RF/radar signal processing, optimization, waveform design, electronic warfare, ML/AI for optimization, model & simulation, systems engineering, test engineering, radar/optics modelling, orbital mechanics, space systems.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, and C/C++.
• Strong communication and briefing skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design and apply models and simulation frameworks to support test and evaluation of algorithms, command & control systems, and deployed software solutions.
• Collaborate with leadership to understand system requirements; summarize progress, report findings and provide assessments.
• Support business development and proposal writing efforts to shape proposed technology solutions.
