Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a senior Power Systems Architect to own the design of end-to-end electrical power systems for Core Systems, Space Mobility avionics, and flight hardware. You will define bus architecture, power sequencing, fault protection, and grounding schemes across vehicle modes and mission phases.

The role requires leading design reviews, conducting thermal and tolerance analyses, and directing DfX considerations for flight hardware. Minimum 8+ years in EPS hardware is expected.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• 8+ years designing and delivering electrical power systems hardware through full development lifecycle.
• Experience with spacecraft or high-reliability EPS hardware including PDUs and regulation circuits.
• Deep understanding of power electronics design (DC/DC converters, battery management, fault protection).
• Experience with derating, WCCA, tolerance, and thermal analysis for flight hardware.
• Experience defining grounding, bonding, and shielding for complex systems.
• Led PDR/CDR reviews and documentation closure.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and deliver end-to-end electrical power systems for space hardware.
• Own EPS bus architecture including topology, fault isolation, and sequencing.
• Design power electronics circuits (solar regulators, battery controllers, DC/DC converters).
• Develop power budgets and perform allocation trades with systems engineering.
• Lead design reviews and ensure action item closure.
• Guide PCB design, power plane strategy, and thermal management.
• Lead EMI/EMC and grounding strategies for system-level requirements.
