SmithGroup is seeking a Senior Space Planner for the Ann Arbor office to lead research-driven planning solutions and client-focused strategies. Qualifications

• Professional degree in Architecture, Urban Planning, Data Science or related fields.
• Minimum 10+ years related experience preferred.
• Experience with higher education planning, space management, and/or institutional research.
• Proficient understanding of space types and planning at building and campus levels.
• Knowledge of data-based information and analytics; familiarity with data visualization software.
• Thought leadership through publications and conference presentations.
• Teamwork and client-satisfaction oriented.

Responsibilities

• Lead in research, analysis, and distillation of data to develop planning solutions and recommendations.
• Manage projects by developing scopes, negotiating contracts, and overseeing deliverables.
• Collaborate with data analysts to create space models and analyses for clients.
• Lead presentations with internal teams, consultants, and clients.
• Produce project presentations, reports and deliverables with cohesive outcomes.
• Develop and manage strong client relationships and advocate for the client.
• Lead or assist in developing new tools and data visualizations.
• Advance space planning thought leadership through writing and talks.
