Job summary

SmithGroup in Los Angeles is seeking a Senior Space Planner to lead research, analysis, and planning for complex facilities, including higher education, healthcare, and research campuses.

You will manage projects, develop space models with data analysts, present findings to clients, advance tools and visualizations, and mentor staff. A professional degree and 10+ years of related experience are preferred, with a hybrid work model and competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Professional degree in Architecture, Urban Planning, Data Science or related fields.
• Minimum 10+ years related experience preferred.
• Experience with higher education planning, space management, and/or institutional research.
• Proficient understanding of space types and planning practices in higher education.
• Experience with data visualization software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead research and data-driven planning studies to generate insights.
• Manage project scope, fees, contracts and deliverables.
• Collaborate with data analysts to build space models and analyses.
• Present findings to clients and internal teams.
• Develop client relationships and support proposal development.
• Mentor staff and contribute to recruiting and career development.
• Advance data visualization tools and thought leadership.
